Therapeutic Art Sessions for Schools

I provide therapeutic art sessions in schools, drawing on over a decade of experience in Irish classrooms. These child-led workshops offer students a safe space to explore feelings, regulate emotions, and build resilience through creative expression. Working one-to-one or with small groups, I focus on process over product, helping children develop confidence, connection, and emotional balance within the school day.

My entry into psychotherapy was shaped by a long-standing dedication to the social role of art, developed through years of teaching and creative facilitation. I work extensively in primary and secondary schools to support emotional expression and group connection through art-based sessions. These spaces allow children to explore their feelings, regulate their nervous systems, and express their unique identities using a range of materials and processes.

Previous Experience

I have worked across a wide range of schools in Galway and beyond, including Scoil Chaitríona Junior and Senior (Renmore), Holy Trinity Primary (Mervue), St. Joseph’s Special School, Claddagh National School, Coláiste Naomh Eoin (Inishmaan), Gort Community School, St. Joseph’s Patrician College (The Bish), Kilneeneen National School, and Scoil Náisiúnta Naomh Breandán (Annaghdown).

In addition, I have led workshops and projects in collaboration with RTÉ (This Is Art Club!), Baboró International Arts Festival for Children, The Education Centre Galway, and the Samhail Collective, as well as facilitating July Provision camps for children at Scoil Chaitríona.
