A Safe Space for Expression

An Art-Centred Approach to Care

I hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy - IACP pre-accredited - alongside a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Arts and Illustration and a Diploma in Psychology of Counselling.

Alongside my clinical training, I have spent over a decade supporting children through art, working in schools and community settings, facilitating creative workshops and art-based sessions with a strong focus on emotional wellbeing.

Psychotherapist, artist, educator are not separate identities here. Each informs the other. Each is held together by imagination, curiosity, and care.

My work is informed by a collaborative, attachment-based, trauma-aware, somatically informed, and art-centred approach.

  • "I’ve been seeing Lara for the past two years, after struggling with a number of issues regarding anxiety and self-image. She creates such a warm, welcoming space that it’s easy to open up and feel at ease, and I genuinely look forward to every session. Lara is incredibly insightful, and our sessions consistently have a positive effect on the rest of my week. I often leave feeling clearer, calmer, and more grounded. She also incorporates art therapy techniques in a really un-intimidating and novel way, which has helped me access thoughts and emotions I wouldn’t have reached otherwise. I can’t recommend her highly enough"

  • “Working with Lara means to have the opportunity to get in touch with a deep sensibility, and a pristine ability to translate emotions into artworks, as well as working with a professional and kind soul”

There is more to life than just coping

You have spent years taking care of others, meeting expectations, silencing your own needs. But unacknowledged feelings don’t disappear. They sink deeper into the body, showing up as tension, anxiety, exhaustion.

Expression can feel risky when you’re used to staying composed. But here, nothing is demanded of you.

We follow what’s ready, not what’s “supposed” to happen. We go at your pace, and only as far as you want to go. And slowly, through somatic awareness and grounding tools, we make room for the feelings, stories, and sensations that have been waiting to be expressed.

Not to re-open wounds, but to help them finally heal.

You don’t have to force anything to change for something to shift

If something in you is asking for more steadiness, more space, or a softer way of being with yourself, you’re welcome to begin here—slowly, at your own pace.

  • Art-centred Psychotherapy — trauma-informed, relational work that integrates talk, body awareness, and creative processes to support emotional regulation, self-understanding, and meaningful change without pressure or performance.

  • Art Sessions for Emotional Wellbeing for Children and Teens — child-led, body-safe sessions using art, movement, and imagination to help young people explore feelings, build regulation, and develop confidence in a way that feels natural and supportive.

  • Art Workshops in Schools — creative, emotionally attuned workshops designed to support expression, regulation, and wellbeing within educational settings, shaped by many years of working with children through art in schools.

  • Artistic Practice — collaborative illustration and mixed-media artworks created with individuals, writers, theatres, musicians, and organisations to tell stories of belonging, memory, and place.
